The P8Z77-V is the base model of the P8Z77 class but it is, as the price suggests, an upper-end motherboard, offering extensive overclocking opportunities, particularly for the new Intel Ivy Bridge Core i7 3770K. Asus USB 3.0 Boost
The P8Z77-V supports the latest USB 3.0 standard, UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol). The Asus USB 3.0 Boost increases the already impressively fast USB 3.0 transfer speed by up to 170%. In fact, Asus was the first motherboard manufacturer to support USB 3.0 UASP.
USB 3.0 Boost works on a Simple Plug & Boost detection model. The ASUS Boost software automatically accelerates data speeds for compatible USB 3.0 peripherals without the need for any user interaction.
USB Bios Flashback
With simple Plug & Press operation, the USB BIOS Flashback is a revolutionary hardware-based update solution. As Asus explains, “USB BIOS Flashback offers the most convenient way ever to update the BIOS! It allows users to update new UEFI BIOS versions even without hardware such as a CPU or DRAM installed into the motherboard. Just plug in a USB flash drive containing the BIOS file, and press the BIOS Flashback button for 3 seconds with the power supply connected. The UEFI BIOS will then automatically update without requiring further interaction. With its new, complementary Windows application, users can regularly check for UEFI BIOS updates and download the latest BIOS automatically. Hassle-free updating for the ultimate convenience!”
