The futuristic advance on the Tom Clansy Ghost Recon series is here today. It is Future Soldier. And it is rough. In fact, it has an Mature rating. The content is intense. The weapon arsenal is huge and the plot is challenging.
If you have fought your way through Desert Siege, came away unscathed through Predator and took only a few hits in Shadow Wars, then consider yourself qualified for Ghost Recon Future Soldier.
“The ultimate quiet soldier. First into any conflict and last to retreat, the ghosts handle the missions that on one else can. Inserted deep behind enemy lines, they strike swiftly and then vanish.”
As Wikipedia explains: “Future Soldier opens with a four-man Ghost Team call-signed ‘Predator’, led by Joe Ramirez, deployed in Nicaragua to disrupt weapons trafficking in the region. Upon inspection of the convoy vehicles, a dirty bomb is remotely detonated, killing the team. Investigating the cause and tracking down the source of the bomb is tasked to another Ghost team call-signed ‘Hunter’, consisting of Ghost Leader Captain Cedric Ferguson, Staff Sergeant John Kozak, Master Sergeant Robert ‘Pepper’ Bonifacio, and Sergeant First Class Jimmy ’30K’ Ellison. The team ships out under the supervision of Major Scott Mitchell.” From there, you’ll fight your way through Nigeria, Pakistan, Norway and Russia. The Ghosts are all that stands between the world and a devastating global conflict.
Bone-rattling battlefield experience
Dive into the ferocity of the battlefield as you cover swap to outsmart your enemies, or shoot from cover to pin them down and let your team outflank them. This is one of the most visceral firefight experiences you’ll ever get in a game.
50 weapons – endless possibilities
Ubisoft promises to give you “unlimited access to the most advanced arsenal in the world, with over 50 weapons including highly customizable assault rifles, pistols, shotguns and submachine guns. Choose from a wide variety of grenades to suit your mission objectives and context.”
They are, obviously, weapons of the future. “Spy on the enemy with remote-controlled drones to plan devastating attacks. Use the mighty power of the Warhound to counter air and ground armored units. Vanish in the heart of action thanks to advanced optical camouflage technologies.”
