Transcend Micro SDHC Ultimate Class 10 Cards

A brief explanation about Micro SD (Secure Digital) cards: they are those small memory cards used in cellphones, digital cameras, GPS navigation devices and tablet PCs. As with other types of memory modules, some have faster read/write speeds than others.

The read/write speed of a micro SD card is categorized in Classes. A Class 2 micro SD card has a transfer rate of up to 2MB/s. A Class 4 up to 4MB/s, andsoforth. The new Transcend micro SDHC Ultimate Class 10 memory cards can handle more than 10MB/s!

SD / SDHC

You’ll notice they are SDHC – not just SD – cards.  SDHC stand for Secure Digitial High Capacity. Older version SD cards had a maximum storage capacity of 2GB whereas the maximum storage capacity on a SDHC card is 32GB.

Thus said, you’ll find many cards marked as “SD” but state a storage capacity higher than 2GB. SD Version 1.0 actually was replaced way back in 2006 and these later bigger models do, in fact, comply with the SDHC 2.0 or 3.0 standard; it is simply is a matter of labelling.

Transcend Micro SDHC Ultimate Class 10 Memory Card Faster Transfer Speed & Full HD

The main difference between the modern cards is the transfer speeds – the “Class” standard as explained above – and some added capabilities. The Transcend Ultimate Class 10 is faster. In fact, it can read up to 20MB/s and write up to 17MB/s … AND it can also handle full-HD recordings. Which, of course, means faster transfers to or from your phone, camera, GPS or tablet PC.

These Transcend memory cards have built-in Error Correcting Code (ECC) technology to detect and correct transfer errors, supports auto-standby, power-off and sleep modes and are USB3.0 compliant. They also include a SD Adaptor, meaning it will fit most of your devices.
