Windows 10 is set to launch on 29 July 2015. Best of all, it’s FREE for current Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users. From the date of launch you will have 1 year to upgrade for free from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1.
The Windows 10 interface sees the popular expanded start menu back in action. Windows 10 will work with your current software – if there are any upgrades necessary, those will come automatically from the software supplier (such anti-Virus programmes or apps).
But there is much more to the new version: is has better security, more internet features and starts and resumes faster.
The upgrade will match your current Windows package, like so:
Windows 7 Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium will upgrade to Windows 10 Home.
Windows 7 Pro, Ultimate will upgrade to Windows 10 Pro.
Windows 8.1 will upgrade to Windows 10 Home.
Windows 8.1 Pro and 8.1 Pro for Students will upgrade to Windows 10 Pro.
Windows Phone 8.1 will upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile.
By now you should have received the upgrade notification on your PC, laptop, tablet and/or phone. See the little Windows 10 logo on the toolbar at the bottom of your screen. Click it, a pop-up windows appears, indicate your interest.
